Italy Vaca Day 1 & 2

For TWO days we have been in a car (and plane for Marilyn).  Yesterday, we drove through Switzerland.  It was so stinking foggy!!!
I can only imagine how beautiful it would have been on a sunny day!
This was the view at the roadside reststop!

GORGEOUS!  We drove over twelve hours yesterday.  We picked Marilyn up from her 11 hour flight.  That poor girl was worn out!

After a good night's sleep, we drove an hour to Parma, Italy!
This was an octagonal baptistry.
We walked around and enjoyed the sights.  We saw the smallest cars!  This was one Lincoln's size!
This little baby truck whizzed by us.  If you look in the right hand corner, you can see the barricades that the little truck fit through!
After looking around, we stopped at a grocery store in Parma.  It was AMAZING.....and overwhelming!  We bought some parmigiano reggiano cheese, some Italian bread, and salami.
Next stop, Bologna!  We ate real bolognese sauce in Bologna!  It was DELICIOUS!  There was not a crumb or scrap on our plates!
We ate gelato.....and it was freezing outside!
Marilyn and Nate shared!  I didn't!  :)  We each tasted each others and then argued about whose was the best!  MINE WAS!
We had a three and a half hour drive ahead of us, so we drove by the towers of Bologna and then started to the next hotel.
The boys slept with us last night so that Mar could get some sleep.  She took them tonight.  They begged ALL day!  I am crossing my fingers that they get some rest.....all of them!
