Virginia

The new house is one story. The boys rooms are in view from the living room. Link came out to go to the bathroom last night. He asked if Nate would tuck him in. Nate told him he could make it back to his room just fine. Link said, "In Virginia you would do whatever I wanted."

Fwinkeler

It was super hot yesterday! I promised the boys that they could play in the sprinkler (fwinkeler if you are Lincoln) after dinner.
The boys were very aware that I had the camera out!Lincoln can make a sword out of anything!!!!
Alabama has Bluebell ice cream and Daddy knows how to make a good cone!!!
Hmmmm.....Mint Chocolate chip!!!

Florida

Our first night in Florida, once the rain stopped, we let the boys run down to the beach. I forgot my camera, but luckily Marilyn had hers!
Nate was pulling lots of shenanigans.

He was chasing the kids and flipping them around.
He even tried to flip me...but I wasn't having that!

Bad Weather

Montgomery is only three hours from Destin/Fort Walton Beach. We knew we weren't going to be able to take a big summer vacation, so we decided on a short trip to the beach. We left early this morning in hopes of having a day at the beach. This is what it looked like at our hotel today.

This was the view from our room! Cross your fingers that tomorrow looks better!!!

The hood!

I am loving this neighborhood. The boys have been going in and out of the backyard on their own. We found all the balls and bats. Ethan even hit a few over the fence last night. We had to call over to the neighbors to toss them back over.
Tonight we took the boys out for a bike ride. I love that there is a HUGE circle that they can ride around. There are only three houses that have driveways on the circle.
Little bit even made the whole way around the circle. It took an extra 15 minutes, but he made it. Nate said that the extra time was him stopping to ring his bell!! :)

Marilyn's B/day!

Marilyn has been working super hard keeping the kids busy and helping us unpack and get the house together. We tried to make the weekend a little less stressful. On Friday, I took her to get her nails done. One of the bad things about moving is that everywhere you go is a new experience. We tried a nail salon pretty close to the house. It was HORRIBLE. They spoke in another language the entire time. For some reason, Mar and I had the two people that talked the entire time. It was so bad; Mar's guy cut her nails down to the quick. Then, he forgot to paint them. We wanted to get out of their so bad we didn't go back to get them painted. Luckily, the cake turned out great. We took her to dinner at Outback. I am hoping that we made up for the bad nail experience!
This afternoon Ethan asked if it was still Mar's b/day. I told him no it was over yesterday. He said, "Ah man...I love it when it's Mar's b/day!"

Movies

Lincoln: That movie scares me.
Nate: It's just a movie. It's not real. Movies aren't real.
Ethan: Some movies are real.....like Lingo. That movie's real. Oh, and Swamp People, too!!!

Montgomery, AL

Friday evening, we pulled into Montgomery, AL. The boys ran straight to the backdoor to see the backyard! They've been in and out of the house 52 times, but we don't care!!!!
When they are in the house, they are running around and of course.....playing the DS!
We put their tent up and they sleep in there at night. Marilyn snuck in last night and they were still awake. She told them two stories. So, tonight they demanded a repeat!

Tomorrow, our furniture arrives! We are so excited to be "settled!"

Atlanta

It seems that we have lucked out AGAIN on our hotel selection. This time the hotel we booked was full, so they paid for an adjoining room with a suite next door. We had a great room!! The next morning we headed to the Coca-Cola museum. Many people recommended this as a "must do" in Atlanta. My boys do not drink soda. They say it's "hot." So, I wasn't sure how they would like the museum, but I think they enjoyed the time out of the car!
We saw a quick tour on how the Coke was bottled. We watched a couple of movies. These are the new coke characters. The last movie was 4D. Our chairs moved and we were squirted with water (coke).
We ended the tour by tasting 60 varieties of sodas from around the world.
A quick tip. If you ever in Italy, stay away from the soda named BEVERLY!!!!
We had so many recommendations for restaurants. Nate found out that Richard Blais from Top Chef has two burger "boutiques" in Atlanta. We are HUGE fans of Spikes, Good Stuff, so we made a stop at Flip Burger. It was good! I still enjoy Spike's the best, BUT Marilyn enjoyed Flip Burger better!

HotLANTA!

The movers came yesterday and therefore we headed out of town. We drove three hours last night. Today we drove seven. We stopped in Atlanta. As we pulled off the interstate, I noticed Pirate Cove's miniature golf. After dinner, we took the fellas for some putt-putt to give them a fun break.

This was the boys first time golfing (not counting the Wii). Ethan LOVED every minute of it.

Little bit enjoyed the whole pirate theme. Notice where his ball is.....

Here he is "kicking" his ball in!
A SHARK. OH NO!!!!!
It's been a long week! As we turned the corner, I saw this fella!
They had so much fun. Tomorrow morning we are going to the Coca-Cola museum, eating lunch, and then heading to Montgomery.

Moving!

For the past two or three days, we have been gathering items that we want to personally move with us to Alabama. Since we didn't want the packers to pack these things up, we had to gather and move them to the car or our neighbors garage.
I guess the fellas didn't and still don't fully understand how this process works. They filled a few shoe boxes with their favorite toys. Then we realized that they thought everything else was going to get left behind. We all had to do lots of reassuring.
This morning they were playing together and I hear Ethan say, "Lincoln, EVERY SINGLE toy is going to Montgomery. I promise!!!"
Poor fellas!!!

Happy 4th of July-DC!

We had a cookout at our house tonight. Then we all headed to the Pentagon to watch the fireworks. While Nate and the boys were waiting in line for the port-a-potty, a man asked Link if he was a future President. He said, "No, but I am gonna be one some day!"
He also asked Ethan if he was from Texas. Nope, but his Mommy is!!!

The girls and fellas chilling before the fireworks.
Ethan and Justin relaxing.
Lincoln eating marshmallows and Daddy eating sunflower seeds.

Ethan asked Mr. Joe if he would race with him.It was a close one.....until Aaron had a crash! We parked in a perfect spot to see the fireworks. It's not everyday that you can say you watched fireworks in DC from the Pentagon.
The whole crew watching the fireworks.
Snuggling with Daddy!
