Howdy lil cowpoke

We busted out Ethan's old boots last Sunday for Link. We had no idea that Ethan would be so bummed that he didn't have a pair to wear, too. So, I found some boots and ordered them from TEXAS! He loves them...as you can see he even wore them with his sweats.
We should have known last night when Link settled in to watch his movie before bed, that he was coming down with something. His head RARELY touches the pillow during movie time. Today, he was the sickest I have ever seen him. He finally kept a popsicle down before bed tonight. Poor baby!

Daddy love!

(Overheard while Nate and Ethan were in the bathroom.)
"Daddy, do you know why I pooped a big Daddy snake? Because I love you!"

Playing Hookie

We played hookie today and went to the Baltimore Aquarium.
The sharks were a big hit. They had four or five kinds of sharks in a HUGE pool with four or five kinds of rays! The aquarium had four or five other levels that overlooked this pool. (I wasn't looking at the exact number :)
Because of all the levels, we weren't able to bring the stroller. Our arms and backs are TIRED from carrying this lug around!
Ethan was so interested in everything! He really explored and took his time! It was refreshing to take him somewhere where he wanted to explore and learn instead of asking "where's the playground?"

However, there was a little bit of running and playing!

A good ole game of Hide and Seek!

Really, Mom? This is tooo easy!
Let's count. Linky hide your eyes!!
Daddy, are you in the bathroom...NOPE!
Can you fit in that little closet?? Not there.
Ok...let's try the bathroom one more time. LOOK CLOSELY!! How did you get on top of the toilet, Daddy??

This is my sanity!

My work is so ridiculous. It's INSANE! I get so excited coming home and I honestly dread going in the mornings. Thankfully, I am not the only one that feels this way. Quite a few of us shared that we that have similiar feelings today. These cutie patooties are my sanity. This big guy has stopped taking naps at school. This has made our evenings a little tough. When we ask him if he took a nap, he has been grinning but saying yes. When we probe a little deeper, he tells us the truth. Today I started off by saying, "You will NOT get in trouble...please tell me the truth." So, he says, "Mom, I tried my best, but Bucky and Earl snore so loudly." I guess that's a start to the truth.

This was taken today while eating a snack. He was sooo happy to be home with his three favorite things: Mickey, Thomas, and Little People man." He couldn't put any of them down to eat his cookie!

the list

So, it's 7:00 on Sunday night and we made it through the list. I even managed to roast a chicken and bake some cookies tonight!
Marilyn bought the boys matching jammies. We got them washed and they were able to wear them tonight! While they were eating their cookies, Link was doing his usual "NOOOO." (for no apparent reason) Ethan looks at him and says, "Link you don't tell your cookie NO. They are healthy for you."

After cookies, they took fake naps on the couch. SECONDS after I took this picture, Link fell off on his head. It scared the death out of me. He barely cried. Thank goodness babies are resilient.

Best laid plans!

Why is on Friday we always come up with a list of things we would like to accomplish during the weekend, but Saturday morning hits and the list falls to the side?

Neigh and NO

It seems almost everyday, the boys bring something up from the downstairs storage area. Today it was horses. Check out the neighs and nos I heard today.

Tiger Woods...really???

So, the yahoo.com headline this afternoon was about Tiger Woods and his new baby. I was reading the article and looking at the picture when Lincoln pointed at Tiger Woods and said, "MAMA." I said, "No, that's not Mama." He points to Tiger, points to me, nods his head, and says, "Mama." REALLY????

Dinner Prayer

God is good. God is great and we thank Him for our food. By His hands, we are fed. Give us Lord our daily bread. Amen!

Pushing Buttons

Gosh...we have had a GREAT long weekend. It was just what we needed. If any one knows our little family, they know that there is a lot of button pushing for humor! One of our favorite buttons to push is with Ethan. At least once a day we tell him that he is getting salad for some meal. It drives him crazy, and we love to do it. Tonight was payback. Nate has had the biggest sweet tooth this week. He asked for Krispy Kreme. Our deal was donuts tonight and then no sweets for two weeks...I'll keep you informed how that goes. In the drive thru, Ethan tells Nate he wants a chocolate one and that he can order a salad donut for himself! It was great!!! He is getting more and more like his Daddy everyday!
This little fella is getting so big. He is understanding and communicating more and more. He has learned to say "man" and loves to carry any little man he can find around.

Pavlov's kiddos

This morning, I got the camera out for our Sunday morning photo shoot. I asked Ethan to head to the toy room for his photo. He sat down and immediately Link followed behind. He sat beside E and said, "Cheese." Nate busted out laughing and said...they were like Pavlov's dog.
They even did some kissing shots. At the grocery store this afternoon, I noticed a lady smiling at them. I looked over and they were kissing each other. It has been a love weekend!

The funniest thing happened before we made it into the grocery store. Apparently Lincoln pooped on the way out of church. He needed a diaper change and Nate suggested we do this in the grocery store. Now if you are a mom you probably know that there is only 1 out of 10 Men's rooms that have a changing table. I guess they think men don't change diapers. So, I suggested that he do it in the back of the car. So, he crawled backed there and started changing Link. Link started squirming and Nate says, "I knew we should have done this in the grocery store." So, I tell him..."I am slicker than you Nate Leap....I know that there probably isn't a changing table in the Men's room." Ethan looks over at me and says, "Momma, it's not nice to call people Slicker."

My Funny Valentines

It was a flower Valentine's Day. My mom sent flowers on Thursday and Nate sent flowers on Friday.
Granny sent the boys a Valentine package. Look at his poor little cheeks!
Ethan loved his Thomas toys.

Bummed

Yesterday when I picked up Lincoln, his teacher told me that he had a rash all over his body. Sure enough, he has Roseola. The symptoms include fever and a rash. It's viral, so there nothing you can do basically. One might think this would be the perfect time to get it with the long weekend coming up, BUT we were headed to Jenn and Justin's to see baby Aaron. Bummer!!!

Mommy...I am so glad it's spring!

This week has been unseasonably warm. Ethan thinks Spring has started. I honestly hated to tell him that it's still winter this morning. This afternoon we all took a walk to the nearby playground. The CRAZIEST thing happened while we were walking. I found a cell phone on the ground. I called the most recent number called. It was the owner's wife. When I told her we were at a playground she was sort of shocked. She said she would call him at work and he would call me. He called and said he was at the playground (we were the only ones there). A few minutes later he and a lady walked up. We had passed them hugging and kissing on a bench near the playground. It was obviously not his wife. I was so disgusted and disappointed that I was trying to do the nice thing and he was obviously doing the wrong thing.
We played a while and Ethan took a pretty bad tumble off the top of the slide. It scared him so badly (and us). Then, the little stinker, almost fell off. We beat it out of there. The playground was sort of a disaster today. This is the hill we take down and back. It is STEEP! We did some snuggling before dinner. Notice jealous boy kicking his brother in the face.

A room with a view

This Saturday Nate and I went to the tippy top of the Washington Monument. These are some pictures from Saturday. The windows were very filmy, but my new Adobe Photoshop did miracles!

We are definitely adding this to our "Must Do in DC" list for visitors!

So big!

This little boy wants to be big soooo bad!
And this little boy is getting too big...too fast!

I had the best idea to date! The boys wanted to watch a movie this afternoon...and Oprah was on! It hit me...COMPUTER! So, we all got what we wanted!

Fun Weekend!

Thursday Memaw and Pappy came to visit. Nate and I took days off of parenting! We went out both nights and did some site seeing Saturday.
Memaw spoiled both boys at dinner. I bought Adobe Photoshop this weekend. I think I should have bought the tutorial book with it. WOW...it's complicated!

MAMA...HELP!!!!

MAMA....why did you put me down?? Pick me up...Pick me up....Hurry! I can't have my feet touch the ground. Hurry...that redhead may try to get me. MAMA!!!

Left out

Nate and I were talking last night and we both decided that Ethan needs some major attention! Thank goodness Bob and Marsha are coming this weekend. Lincoln is so darn demanding! He is in my lap or arms constantly. If he's not, he's screaming "MAMA." Meanwhile, Ethan is playing by himself or reading to himself. Today Lincoln popped down to get a toy and Ethan plopped in my lap. He sat there for a good 20 minutes and refused to get down. Lincoln finally figured out that he wasn't moving and actually "played" by himself for a few minutes.

Nate's Theory

First off....don't try this at home. Nate's cutting open Marilyn's Valentine gift while holding a squirming 21 month old.
Aren't those the PRETTIEST baby blues??? AND yes, he does make the world a better place. EVERYDAY!

So, this is Nate's theory: Nate was born in 1977. The Steelers won the Super Bowl in 1979. Ethan was born in 2004, and the Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2006. Lincoln was born in 2007 and the Steelers won in 2009. So, I am pregnant again...2011??? HAHAHA! Just Kidding! We're done forever....sorry Steeler fans!

Welcome Flat Luke

The Cerminaros sent us Flat Luke for the month. This weekend was dedicated to Flat Luke. Yesterday, we took him into DC. It was COLD. Tonight, he watched the Steeler game until it was bedtime for the boys.
Lincoln did not like Flat Luke getting so much attention this weekend. If heard "MAMA" once, I heard it A ZILLION times!
I sure hope he gets Nate's eyes and not mine. It's not looking good.
