We need one of these!!!

This is Jaden. She is eight and FABULOUS! Joe and Rachel (friends from Dayton) moved here last weekend and we finally got together for dinner tonight. My boys are already in L-O-V-E with her! The best, best, best thing about her is.....she's a reader!! She voluntarily read to them and they loved it!
We also had this little man over tonight! He was missing his Mommy so he got extra loving from the Leaps. In this household, it means lots of kisses and hugs and more kisses. ***I just wish I remembered to take that darn bib off before I got the camera out!**

Daddy's truck

It's amazing how excited these boys get over riding in Daddy's truck! Nate took the boys to school and picked them up today! They were in HEAVEN!!!
I saw a blog about making t-shirt designs using freezer paper. They looked sooo easy, so today I made each boy a shirt. Ethan HAD to have numbers on his shirt, hence the 999. (It looked sooo much cuter without the number, but it's his shirt!)They were so easy and cute! I can't wait to make Aaron Hill a little baby one!!!

It's been a slow week around here (as you can tell from my lack of interesting blogs). We are continuing the slow week with a laid back weekend! We hope you have a good weekend!!!
It's been such a slow week, I am posting more pictures from last Sunday!

Picture Day

Monday was picture day at school. The boys were super excited to have new shirts and shoes for their pictures. They looked pretty snazzy if I say so myself.

Things I've learned taking pictures of my kids.

1. Don't eat Cheetos before the pictures are taken.2. Don't wear heels. (You may have to chase Lincoln)
3. There can be NOOOO sun. Ethan is too pale for sunlight!
4. Hide the sticks!
5. The best pictures are taken with no POSES!!
6. They pose much better in their Steelers shirts!

How was your day?

was the first question Nate asked Link when he got home today. Link looked at him and said, "We went to Memaws!" NO WE DIDN'T!! Today was actually our first Friday of the school year that we will be staying home. Since Nate is deploying in January, we decided I would work four days a week. I am hoping that when he is gone, I will be able to use my extra day to get errands and cleaning done and still have a "weekend." Today we got the grocery shopping done (I love Harris Teeters online shopping)!!! We made a Walmart run and enjoyed Wendys for lunch. We also played, played, and played somemore!!! We did not make it to Memaws, however!!!!

Morning Loving

Mornings are rough for us. The kiddos have to get up at 6:15 for us to be out of the house by 7:00. It's still dark and they are tired. This morning they were great. They were in a loving mood!

Moooooommmmmmmmyyyyyyyy

We/Lincoln have started a VERY bad habit. Each night right after we tuck him in, he starts the lovely "MOOOOOMMMMMMYYYYYY" whine! It goes for about ten minutes until one of us breaks down and goes in. If I go in, it's to sing one more song. If Daddy goes in, it's to rub his back and tell him to be quiet. Last night, we decided to hold off longer. It lasted thirty minutes before Daddy, as he called it, brought down the hammer and gave him some heart. He, in his stern voice, told him basically to CUT IT OUT while rubbing his back!!!!
Tonight, before I went to work out, I told Nate we are NOT going in there tonight. He has to stop this mess!! I got home and Nate said he let it go on for a full HOUR before he had to bring out the hammer....there was NO heart tonight! HA!!!
He went right to sleep. Cross your fingers that this crazy habit is broken.

It's boot wearing weather!

Sunday school kicked off at church today. This summer Ethan has been sitting with us during church. He has been FABULOUS, but it was so nice having an hour to worship without the coloring books!
It's getting cooler and the boys were able to wear their boots today. They have been begging to wear them all summer!
This picture just cracks me up! We are entering the time out every two minutes phase. His favorite word is "NO." UGHHHHHH!!!!

Saturday fun

I have had a hard time blogging lately. Mainly, because I keep forgetting my camera. Today, we headed to Gravelly Point with the Hills for lunch....and I forgot my camera!! So, I thought I would take some pictures of the boys playing with the treats Marilyn sent yesterday. Nate let the boys play with the Happy Birthday balloon she sent him. (His b/day is in January :)
He did mention to me that he wasn't sharing his Swedish fish!
I've been a jewelry making fool!!!! She sent me some beads, rope, and pendants. I have been making so much that I am having to give it away! My friends are being really nice to me lately! :)
No package from Marilyn would be complete without cars! This time they got more Cars cars and Ethan got a lot of NUMBER cars! He was thrilled!!!

Dentist

Back in April, we took Ethan to the dentist. He noticed that he had ONE cavity, and recommended that we come back in July to clean his teeth and check them out more thoroughly. Ethan wasn't the greatest patient, so we knew it would take some time before they could get a GOOD look. So, in July we went back to the dentist and he recommended a Pediatric dentist because Ethan started having some pain on two teeth. We went and had some X-Ray's done. That is when we learned that he had EIGHT cavities and one was pretty bad. She mentioned that he may need a root canal. We scheduled today to get the cavities filled under sedation.
Today, when the dentist came out she told us he need FOUR root canals. How in the WORLD does a four year old need FOUR root canals, I asked. She said....FLOSS! Now, who flosses their four year olds teeth? REALLY??? That's what caused them? You have to be kidding me!! Nate and I feel like the worst parents ever!! Thank God for baby teeth. It's like a second chance!!

Going to the movies

I spent part of last night searching parks and outdoorsy things to do with the kiddos today. When we woke up this morning, it was cloudy and overcast. Nate didn't get to go with us the first time the boys went to the movies, so we decided to head there today. We started off with lunch at Firehouse subs. The boys LOVE the firefighter stuff on the walls. Today, they got firehats!
Since the boys have had a rodent summer (Stuart Little, Ratatouille, and Alvin and the Chipmunks), we went see G-Force. No movie would be complete without a popcorn stop.
The movie was a little too old for them. They both started getting restless about the last half hour. Even if the movie is not that great, it's always fun to go to the movies. I am so glad we were able to take Nate with us!!!

Labor day weekend

The boys were spoiled, as usual, by Memaw and Pappy this weekend. They played, snuggled, and watched movies together. They are leaving tonight, but Nate and the boys are making their way to PA on Wednesday. Nate and I were able to run some much needed errands without the munchkins. We enjoyed dinner out with the Hill's Friday night. Last night, Nate and Justin went to the Nationals game while Jenn and I watched a movie. It was a fun weekend for all. The best part is we have tomorrow off!! :)

Thank Goodness it's Thursday

This year I am working four days a week. So, the boys last day of the week is Thursday. To celebrate, I broke down and bought them their own copy of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lincoln was sooo excited! We barely made it in the door before they were asking to watch it! Memaw and Pappy are on their way for the long weekend. These boys should have a great LONG weekend!!

Crazy Hair day!

It's back to school week for the kids at the boys school. Each day has a theme. Today was crazy hair day! The boys really got into making their hair crazy!
