Pirate Party

Lincoln's birthday party was today!

We started the party off with a treasure hunt.  Some of Ethan's friends came with their younger siblings.  So, the big guys (and Sullivan-he is FIVE and can read!!!) read the clues for the group!

The clues took them all over the playground.
I was so happy that Lincoln was the one that found the treasure!
It was 90 degrees today.  After the treasure hunt, the kiddos cooled off with some lunch!
The pirate princess took a little nap.
These scalawags loved giving me the pirate look!
The pirate cake and grog was so yummy!
After filling their bellies, they sword fought on the plank!
This fella loaded up on the presents!  Our little family has some fantastic friends!
This little sweetie had the best birthday weekend!  I am so proud of him and can't believe he is FIVE!!

Buddies Playing Buddies

On Friday night, Ethan's team played Grant's team!
Ethan was letting his team know "TWO OUTS!"

Number five was into the game!
Grant played second base last night.
 The fans!
 The parents!
At the end of the game, Ethan played second base!  He was so happy he played the same position as Grant.

Field Day

Ethan has the best teacher ever!  I didn't make it to field day today because of Link's b/day and picking up Marilyn.  So, his teacher sent me these pictures to blog!
He came home today and said that he had the best day ever!
 Love this freckle face!

 Cotton Candy!
They had some interesting events at this field day!
I think he was having a little bit of fun!
 Tug of war!

This is my favorite picture!  They look like they are having a blast!

Look who's FIVE

Late last night Nate and I decorated Link's door.  We set the alarm 30 minutes early to catch him opening the door.  Unfortunately, the stinker, woke up five minutes before the alarm.  He rushed in our room and said, "Guys someone put paper on my door." I asked him how he got out of his room. He said, "I layed on the floor and crawled out!"  I made him crawl back in and bust out!!!
We met Nate for a fun lunch out!  He enjoyed his hotdog, mac-n-cheese, and fries!!!
After lunch we picked Mar up from the airport and Ethan from school.  Once everyone was home, he opened his presents!
We told him today was HIS day and he could pick dinner and get cupcakes (his party is Sunday).  He chose Mellowmushroom and Gigi's!
We ended the night watching Ethan play ball!  As we were walking to the car, Link looks at Mar and says, "Mar, have you had fun with me today?"  We all said YES!!!!

All is right

This sweetie and I have been at odds for a few weeks.  He is itching to have a break from me, and it shows!  Today, I decided we would just stay at home for the day.  I have a few projects that I want completed.  One was painting a BRIGHT pink European voltage lamp that a friend game me.  While I was in the backyard painting, he yells (very loudly) out the door, "MOMMY, I LOVE YOU!"  Ahhh...melted my heart!

Full Swing

This is Lincoln's baseball class.  It looks like there are more adults than children...and it almost is!  They want full participation from the parents.  There are so many children that this past week Nate said that Link only got to bat three times.  Luckily for us, Ethan only has practice once this week, so we have been getting out in the back yard and playing.  Link seems to have gotten the hang of batting, but he wants nothing to do with his glove.  I guess batting is the most fun part!

Gag!

This is word for word what these stinkers were saying as they are watching him play Mario.

Ethan:  Oh Daddy, you are amazing!
Link: Daddy, you are the best Daddy ever!
Ethan:  Daddy you are awesome!
Link:  Daddy, wow!
Me:  HEY!!!!
Link:  Oh Mommy, you make the best dinners ever, but Daddy is the best at everything else!

Electronics

The angels were both in trouble this week.....for hitting!  Ethan lost all electronics for a week and his first mate lost them for a day.  I have to say it was WONDERFUL!   They played together with real toys!  It is  so wrong of me to wish they would do something to lose them again next week???  :)

Time away

Lincoln:  When I have children, they better go to school.  I would get tired of watching them everyday!

He and I have not been meshing as well as we were earlier this year.  I think he is plain ready to go to school!!  We have been doing multiple play dates a week just to keep him (and me) happy!!!!  Today, while I was in a meeting with Nate about our move, Link went to play with some friends!  His Mom sent me pictures of them being crazy and enjoying some Nancy's Italian Ice!!!

Brain Freeze

The boys (including Nate) LOVE Nancy's Italian Ice here in town.  However, every time they go they get a BIG OLE brain freeze!   Monday night, Nate took the boys and brought some home.  Ethan screamed, "BRAIN FREEZE!"  We turned to look at him and his hair was standing straight up from the goose bumps!
This picture cracks me up every time I look at it!!!

Sleepover

Ethan had his first sleepover on Saturday night.  I waited until Saturday morning to tell Lincoln that Ethan was going.  You should have seen the tears!  He was devastated.  Nate and I planned a fun evening with pizza, cupcakes, and a Redbox movie!  At the end of the evening, Link said to Nate, "Tonight wasn't so bad.  I thought it was going to be horrible!"  He was happy to have Ethan back on Sunday!

Sensitive One

Lincoln:  Mommy, when I get married, I am going to let the wife drive.
Me:  Oh, you are getting married.  Huh???  Interesting.
Lincoln:  Well, maybe I could let her decide if she wants to drive or if she wants me to drive.
Me:   Well, aren't you sweet!
Lincoln:  Yeah, but I don't know if you can come to my wedding.  I may not tell you where it is.
Me:  Well, that isn't very NICE!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We started this morning off enjoying Easter services at Saint James!
After church, we rushed home to hunt for some Easter eggs!
Nate hid these eggs GOOD!  Link needed to pull his shirt out to get serious!!
Nate hid some eggs up high and not easy to spot!
They were excited when they found the MONEY eggs!
Pink eggs in the pink azaleas!
They were on a mission!!!
The last egg took forever to find.  Can you spot it?
We ended the day with a wonderful Easter dinner with the Coopers!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, too!
