Happy Halloween

from Batman
and Captain Hook.
Our friends, Joe and Rachel, invited us over for dinner and then to Trick-or-Treat. Jaden showed us around the neighborhood.
This neighborhood, reminded me a little bit of our neighborhood in Dayton. There were so many kids.
Aaron bear had fun eating Kit Kat's on his first Halloween.
Ethan did a great job of keeping up with the big kids. I actually had to ask him to slow down for Lincoln.

Lincoln was a HUGE hit this year. He went up to everyone and said, "AYE AYE CAP'N." It took him a while to get the hang of it. He wanted to give everyone candy instead of taking it. When he FINALLY put it in his basket, he said, "Oh more treasure." He was adorable!!

Mar's here

Ethan was so excited that Mar was coming after naps today. He kept saying, "I can't wait that long." So, to keep him and Lincoln busy, I pulled out the playdough. Ethan found these little people cookie cutters and decided to make the entire family. I overheard this, "Oh no...Granny, you look terrible." I guess Granny was the first person....she's a little mangled.
Mar had a box of toys delivered to arrive today. They had her building leggos all night.
Lincoln got a super comfy pillow and he took a leggo break while the other two worked on!!
Yeah...the finished project....a jeep and a horse trailer.

Carving pumpkins

Nate and the boys spent the day at home today. They played and played and everyone was exhausted tonight. Nate decided we needed to do "something" together to keep the boys busy just a little longer before bedtime. We got out the pumpkin and decided to carve him up!
I wasn't sure how the boys would do with the insides, but they loved it.
It took a little longer than we expected, and Lincoln started getting restless. When Ethan gets tired, he lays around and whines. When Lincoln gets tired, he revs it up and goes bananas! He started climbing on the table, climbing under the table, and climbing on the chairs.
I picked him up and moved him to the stairs, but I didn't say a word. I didn't even tell him it was "time-out." He started squirming around.
And then had a meltdown!!!
After some hugs and kisses, the pumpkin was finished and so was the meltdown.
I think it turned out pretty good! Now I just need to get a good candle. All we had was birthday candles.

They made it!!!

Blow the stink off

Nate was cooped up with the boys all day and he decided to go for a bike ride after dinner.
Once he got to the bottom of the hill, he let Ethan take over! That's a steep hill!!!

Lincoln yelled, "Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, MOMMY.....I wanna get out of the stroller!!!" So, we let him out to throw some rocks in the creek.

Nate and I have our work plans made out for the week. He is going to stay home with the fellas Monday and Tuesday and I will stay home the rest of the week. Lincoln is not itching at all. He doesn't have a fever and he's as engergetic as ever. I told Nate that this is the best way to stay home.....no one is actually sick. I have a feeling we will be watching lots of movies and building with leggos all week!!!

He's feeling so good that he pulled his little charm out today when I got ready to leave for Zumba. He came over and did his fake whining and said, "I need one more kiss, Mommy." I gave it to him and he whined and said, "Just one mo, please." He knows how to get me!!

It's a bust!

We have been trying to get to the pumpkin patch (as a family) this entire MONTH!! Each of the boys went on a field trip with their classes and I went with my school to the pumpkin patch. We just haven't been as a family. There has been something going on, or it's raining, or our baby has chicken pox! Yes, Lincoln has the chicken pox! Ethan had his heart set on carving a Jack-O-Latern on a VERY BIG pumpkin. We had to stop at Shoppers (a terrible grocery store) and get a VERY BIG pumpkin for him. We are hoping to get it carved some time this week. When I realized we were not going to get our annual pumpkin patch picture, I was bummed. BUT, today I noticed the leaves are at their fall color peak and so we pulled over at the entrance of our complex and took a fall photo. Next year......

Crazy Pumpkins!

The pumpkins we got from the pumpkin patch are too small to carve Jack-O-laterns. We found these cooky facial features to put on them. The boys loved picking the eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and even horns!

Fall Centerpiece

I found this platter at Crate and Barrell and thought it would be great for some fall decor. So, I enlisted the help of Ethan and Lincoln to find acorns and leaves. I thought I would have to encourage (MAKE) them to help me, but they actually LOVED it. I had to weed out some of the acorns they picked. In fact, Ethan asked if we could get some more today!
On a side note, Ethan is half naked in this picture because we haven't been able to get the temperature regulated in this THREE story house. So, the boys rooms are hot and the downstairs is cool. Ethan has decided to sleep in his underwear. I think he's pretty resourceful!

Pizza Party

It was such a gloomy weekend, so we decided to make homemade pizzas as a family last night. We made individual pizzas. Ethan was very precise in making his pizza. He wanted a perfect rectangle with his sauce spread evenly.
Lincoln was more interested in eating the cheese. Lucky for me, Nate took the cheese away from him. I barely had enough for mine.
We had extra dough so we made cinammon sticks. Once again, Nate had to take the sugar and cinammon away from Lincoln before he ate it all.
Ethan was so sweet and read a book to Link while they were waiting for the pizzas.
These are the boys pizzas. Nate and I made veggie pizzas and they were DELICIOUS!!!
After dinner, Ethan looked at me and said, "Mom, we should cook dinner more often." WHAT does he think I do EVERY night?????

It's been raining for almost five days. We had so many fall plans, but the weather has been horrible. We are hoping this week dries up and we can get out a DO SOME FUN STUFF!!

Aaron's Party

It has rained since Thursday and it's YUCKY! Today we had a bit of fun going to Aaron's first birthday party.I'm not sure if Aaron had a much fun as Ethan opening his presents. I know we told Ethan at least ten times to let Aaron open them!!
Aaro loved his cake! BUT, we all did. It was yummy!
Jaden brought her MP3 player and let the boys listen to her music.
We had a great time.

Money, money, money, money!

We got a pile of birthday cards last week for E's b/day and I put them aside for him to open when he was in "the mood." Tonight we opened them at the dinner table. My aunt Marlene sent him a card with money in it (the best kind of card). Ethan pulled the money out and yelled, "Wooohooo TEN BUGS!" Sooo funny!!!

Third times a charm?

This is the second year in a row that Nate and I have gone out the night before and bought balloons for Ethan's birthday party only to FORGET them in the basement or in a closet. Lucky for us, he's still young and doesn't care. He loves them anytime!

The boys really, really, really have enjoyed all Ethan's b/day presents. They are playing together so much. Nate picked out the game Guess Who and Ethan absolutely loves it. He and Nate play forever each night!

MeMaw's darlings

Memaw had so many stories of the boys from this week, but this one was my favorite. Memaw asked Link if he was he boy and he said, "I your Darling." They both were DEVASTED when she left today! They had a blast last week!

The Party!!

When he woke up at 7:30 this morning, he asked, "When are they getting here?" The weather was crazy today. It drizzled, sprinkled, and was so windy today. We debated for hours if we should have the party at home or at the playground. We finally decided to have it at home.I think it was a good idea. The kids barely came out of the toy room!
Cake brought them out!
He got into his "shy" mode while everyone was singing to him. He turned his head and wouldn't look at anyone. Lincoln on the other hand was the life of the party!
Aaron was in a great mood. He wasn't so crazy about the vanilla cake, but he LOVED the chocolate. He's a smart fella!

Lincoln was quite the ladies man today.

Fall is here

Since my baby is not here for me to take pictures of for his fifth birthday, I thought I would post some fall pictures. When we left Pennsylvania on Sunday, we were surrounded by COLORS! We took our time driving home. We stopped aside the road a few times so we could take a few pictures! It was so nice not having to hand snacks and toys to the back!!! The top picture was taken just a few miles from Bob and Marsha's house. Ethan loves the windmills. Once we got out of Pennsylvania mountains, the colors gradually faded back to green. It's still pretty green here, but this gave us taste of the colors to come!
