Eagle's Nest

On our way to Salzburg, we stopped at the Eagle's Nest in Berchtesgaden, Germany.  The Eagle's Nest was a gift to Hitler for his 50th b/day.  He used it as a retreat.
The Eagle's Nest is 6,017 feet high.  You can only go to the top by either hiking (not gonna happen) or a bus ride to the top.  The road is one lane and it was TIGHT!
We had a gorgeous day to tour!

To the right of the peak in the middle of the picture is Salzburg, Austria.  We watched a plane land at the airport which was a few miles from our hotel.
It was definitely a hike to the top and someone wanted a break, but the views were beautiful!
