Miami Day One

We were super excited to go to Miami for Spring Break.  Our first day was super chilly, so we went to do an airboat ride on the Everglades.
We definitely needed ear protection and sweatshirts!

My buddy wanted to sit on the edge.  I made sure to hold on tightly!
 It was cold and loud!

 Our boat driver/guide was great!
We saw two alligators Haley and Scar!

After our tour, we found a local Cuban restaurant right close by.
We enjoyed a couple guava empanadas.
 We all LOVED the frita.
We enjoyed a drive to the Biscayne Key to see their light house and run around a bit.
 The boys did some exploring.
We ended our evening enjoying some fresh crabs on South Beach.

Confirmation

Ethan's 6th Grade Class had their confirmation on March 6th.
We arrived to church early and so the boys enlisted their friend's
Dad to join their Madden Mobile League.
Ethan's friend, Zach, was baptized before confirmation.

Ethan choice our friend, Courtney, to be his friend in faith for the 9 week process!  He chose wisely!

Spring Dance

Ethan had a Spring Dance last night.
Nate, Lincoln, and I were there to chaperone.  Nate and I ran the photobooth.
My PTSA ladies!

Ethan and his 6th grade friends!

The dance started off with a lot of sitting.
By looking at this picture you would think Ethan is dancing with this girl, but NO.
He would be chasing her!  haha!
 My fellow chaperones.
Towards the end of the dance, a song came on and all the kids climbed up
on the bleachers and started singing.  I am so old.
I had no clue why they were doing this or what the song was, but it was funny.
 Hanging out with friends.
We had a few gift baskets.  They were a good hit!  It was SOOO fun being able to go to my kid's dance and watch him with his friends.   We had a great time.

Dr. Seuss Week

 Funny Hat Day!

Book Character Day.
I think he has been Abraham Lincoln for 4 years in a row.

Fun and Games with Ethan

Ethan is participating in Confirmation at our church.  He and his friend in faith have to do a service project.  Ethan decided to go to the local nursing home to play board games and eat cookies.
Ethan teaching a 96 year old lady to how to play Connect 4.
Mrs. Courtney, Ethan's friend in faith, helping this group play Uno.
We had to drag the kid's out after an hour. They would have stayed and played games with these ladies all day!  We all had a great time.
As we were leaving, the ladies asked when the kids were coming back!
I think they enjoyed themselves too!

Sixth Grade Wax Museum

Ethan's history's class chose different figures that have made a big impact in the world and then dressed up as them last Friday.  Classes and parents came by to learn about these figures.
Ethan chose the Jazz Musician Wynton Marsalis.
His classmates really enjoyed this project.  They all dressed up and memorized some lengthy presentations for their audience!
Ethan's buddy, Zach was Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters.
All the parents got a giggle when Dr. Dre introduced himself.
 Easy E and Ice Cube.
 J. Lo was present along with her friend
a musician from the early 1900s. (I can't remember her name).
Ethan's friend, Emma, was the Jazz Musician, Dinah Washington.
2016 Dinah Washington wore a sweet pair of Chuck Taylor's!

Ethan giving his presentation to my friend Linda.
Hip Hop Duo, Rakim and Erik B.

I was super impressed with the whole group!  They did an excellent job!
