Budapest Thermal Baths

 We arrived in Budapest about 3:00 pm on Thanksgiving day.  It was very cold, so we decided to go to the famous thermal baths in Budapest that afternoon. 

We decided to go to the Szechenyi Baths. 

 One reason we chose here is because they require bathing suits!

 These baths have 15 indoor baths and three outdoor baths.  

 We hit ALMOST all of the indoor baths.  We passed on the 18 degree celsius one!  

We ended the evening by stopping at two of the outdoor pools!  

 We all had the best time.  The boys said this was their favorite part of our weekend.

We had chimney cakes (kurtoskalacs) at a festival in Germany a few years ago and we LOVE them.  They are all over the place in Hungary.  In fact, we ended the night getting one in the metro!

Alice in Wonderland

Bri got me and the boys tickets to see Alice in Wonderland tonight.

 We love going to the theater!

Ethan said it was better than he thought.  

Lincoln was EXHAUSTED after a fun day playing hard with his friend.  

Second Grade Thanksgiving Feast

 Lincoln's Second Grade Class has a feast on Friday.  

 Everyone brought in their favorite dish to share.  

 Ms. Mae brought in dessert.  The Thanksgiving cupcakes were gorgeous!

 Nate surprised us all by stopping in!

 Lincoln went around the room showing Nate all of his work. 

 All of the kids had the best time.  One of them told Ms. Richardson that they had trouble sleeping the night before because they were so excited!

These buddies have been in the same class since Kindergarten.  Thankfully, they are both leaving this summer.  It should make the move a little easier!

Tennis

Lincoln and I have been taking tennis lessons (not at the same time, but our levels are probably very similar)!  We recently moved to indoor courts.  The courts are located in the strangest place.  As you enter the building you are greeted by a very cranky old man behind a bar.....that serves beer and coffee.  To your immediate right is a room filled with exercise equipment.  To the rear left are the courts.  The courts were FREEZING today and our coach told us that the cranky man would turn the heat on if it dropped to zero.  He isn't the friendliest guy.   Another tennis player said, "But he gives the best chiropractic adjustments and massages."  So not only can you have a beer, run on the treadmill, play a round of tennis or badminton BUT you can have an adjustment and massage too!

Machines

I've was volunteering in Link's class today.  I was sitting at his table while they were doing math.  A little boy in his class walks up and says, "Lincoln is a really good reader."  I told him that he was too! He says, "Lincoln has the most reading stars."  So, I told him that I knew that he had the most reading counts quizzes completed.  A little girl at Lincoln's table looks up from her work and says, "Yeah, yeah, yeah.  They're both machines!"  I laughed!!!  It was too cute!

Halloween 2014

 Bri was a crazy witch and she loaned me the fabulous red robe!

Afterwards, we had a pot luck dinner at a local wine bar!  

The boys played games and we had a great time!  

Fire Station Field Trip

 Last Monday, Link's class walked to the fire station on base.  

 We had two firemen talk to the classes about the equipment and fire safety. 

 Lincoln was so happy about having two field trips back to back.  

 The firemen took the ladder all the way up!

 Lincoln got to sit the in the driver's seat. 

 His second grade class went with a Kindergarten class.

 He was paired up with a cute little girl.  

After the field trip, they enjoyed pizza for lunch.  Ian's mom, Mae and I read a book to the class and then made a class scarecrow and fun scarecrow craft.

We had a great day!
