Lincoln Happenings

I have been trying to keep track of a few funny Lincoln conversations lately.  This first one has to do with this outfit!!  Both boys are growing out of their clothes like crazy!  On Sunday morning, I told him that I was going to pick out his church clothes to make sure they fit.  He ran to his closet and said he wanted to at least help.  I pulled out the plaid shirt and he said he wanted a t-shirt for underneath.  Then, he told me he wasn't going to button it up because he thought it would look COOL!  He was so proud of his outfit!

On another silly note, he was watching TV one day.  He yells to the kitchen, "Ethan, keep it down!  I can't hear the TV!!"  Ethan says, "SERIOUSLY, I am making YOUR lunch!"  Link says, "Oh!  Carry on!"

In the car one evening, Link says, "Ethan, we must not be buttheads!"  Ethan rolls his eyes and says, "Link!!!  It's we must not butt heads!!!!"

He has kept us laughing all summer!

Middle School

Lincoln and I took Ethan to his Sixth Grade Orientation yesterday.  MIDDLE SCHOOL! Yikes!!!

I thought it was absolutely terrifying, but of course, he was FINE!  He starts school next Thursday and he doesn't want us to come in with him.  I know I am going to worry for nothing all day!  

Zoo

 Mar took the boys to the zoo while she was here!  

 She laughed and laughed when she was telling me about feeding giraffes.   

 When I asked if they enjoyed it, they both yelled NO!

 They loved feeding the birds.

San Antonio

Nate and I spent ten days in San Antonio for a conference and school tours.  

 We spent the first four days in a classroom sitting and listening.  On our last conference day, we were able to go to a Basic Training Graduation! 

 This one was special because it was General Rand's last graduation.

 After the graduation, we went and had lunch with six week basic trainees.  

It was one of the coolest experiences!  

 On Monday and Tuesday, Nate and I toured training squadrons all over San Antonio.  It was so neat to see where the basic trainees would be going after graduation.

 On Saturday, Dad and Gale met us and we drove all over San Antonio. We made a quick trip the Our Lady of the Lake to see if anything had changed since 2000.  NOPE!  Everything was still the same!

 We enjoyed breakfast and lunch with Dad and Gale before they headed back to McDade.

 During the weekend, Nate and I also went to the Riverwalk!  It was so HOT

We also met up with my girl, GENEVA!  We were lucky enough to meet her fiancee before we return in a few weeks for her wedding!  

We had such a great ten days, but we were both missing the boys so badly!

Marilyn's Bday

 Marilyn came a few weeks ago and watched the kids while we went to San Antonio for ten days.  Before we left, we celebrated her birthday.

 The boys were so excited to have Gigi's cupcakes!  

We ended the party with a game of Joker!  I will let you guess who won!

Lego Camp

I found an online Lego Camp for the boys to join.

They have a leader who posts daily challenges. 

So far, they have had to build a tall sculpture, a shadow lego, a levitating lego, and a lego with tin foil.  They love videoing themselves and posting it online.  Their camp counselor is Burrito Rattlesnake.  They get SOOO excited when he comments on their videos!  

Playground fun

 We had a "cool" day.  It was only 80 degrees, so we went to the playground!

 It was really fun watching Lincoln figure out how to maneuver the monkey bars.

 Ethan was NOT into the playground.....

 until we made it competitive.  I told him to pretend he was on American Ninja Warriors.

He was also super happy to play tic tac toe!
