Marilyn Louisey bought Ethan some wicked dorky glasses for his b/day! These guys took turns posing for me at the party Friday night! Who do you think is the dorkiest?

Par-tay

Ethan had the best birthday! This grin started when we got home from school and stayed planted on his face until bedtime!
E has this shrill scream that sounds like nails on a chalkboard. After every single gift, we were lucky enough to hear that cute shrill little scream. He honestly loved every single gift!
This party was seriously a Star Wars party. All of his gifts were star wars and Jaden, E, and Link dressed up like Star Wars!
Jenn and Justin got them some great Star Wars coloring books, so they took a quick break to do some coloring!
Nate was itching for us to cut the cake, so we pried the kids away from their coloring to enjoy the cake! This was the first b/day where Ethan actually enjoyed everyone singing to him. The grin did not go away!
It was going to be super hard to beat the pirate cake from Link's b/day, but this one came close!

SIX

He's six years old!!! I say it every year, but goodness time flies. It literally seems like yesterday. He is trying so hard to be big, but it's only been two months since he gave up napping/resting. He's barely making until 7:00 pm each night. He's trying to be independent, but he still wants me to walk him all the way to the door at school. He starting to get embarrassed by me, but he still loves snuggling on the couch. He's really enjoying big boy shows and movies like Star Wars, but he still loves Dora and Curious George. He loves picking out his own clothes, but he still needs help tying his shoes! Please don't grow up so fast big man!!!

Memaw and Pappy came in town to night to celebrate Ethan's b/day! They let the fellas open up their presents tonight! Both boys received a Clone Trooper helmet! Lincoln loved his!!!

Recruiting

**Conversation with Ethan on the way home from Basketball.**
Ethan: Mom what do you do at college?
Me: Well, once you decide what you want to be you learn how to do it at college.
Ethan: Well, I am NOT going to be a fireman. It's too dangerous. AND, I am not going to be a cook because you have to cook dinners.
Me: You could be a doctor.
Ethan: Nah...
Me: You could be a nurse like Memaw.
Ethan: I don't want to listen to all that crying when I give shots.
Me: Well, what about a teacher?
Ethan: NO WAY! That is too hard! I think I will just be a Speech Therapist.
Me: (smiling BIG) Oh, why do you want to be a Speech Therapist?
Ethan: Oh. I am good with my words, and it's easy!
Me: hmmm....is that so?

That's all it took?

Who would have thought that ordering his b/day cake, getting his Halloween costume, and eating Vietnamese food would have resulted in "the best day ever"?

Oh how the times have changed!

The summer, Ethan delayed bedtime. He came out of his room a zillion times. He fought sleep!
Since Kindergarten has started, he asks when bathtime is. He pushes us to hurry up and tuck him in. He stays in his room and doesn't come out. Tonight we reminded him to stay in his room until 7:00. He says, "How about 7:45?"
