Playing outside!

Ethan was so excited about playing baseball at Memaw's house. He asked to play the minute we arrived. Pappy, Daddy, and Link were all up for a game.
Link really got the hang of it!
Their stance is identical!
The weather was so nice! The boys got a lot of play time outside this trip!

Petting zoo in PA

Saturday morning, Memaw decided to take the fellas to the petting zoo.
They had pony rides!
The pony was just their size!
They even took a camel ride!
Mommy forgot to pack everyone's hat. So, we had to borrow hats from Memaw.

It took a little convincing for Link to feed the animals.
His face tells it all.
His favorite animals were the black ones! I think he thought they were the "baddest."

We fed, and fed, and fed the animals! We knew it was time to go when one of the alpacas spit on ALL of us!

Planking

My friend, Chester, started a Facebook page called Planking Texas. He has posted pictures of his friends and his own children "planking." The Wikipedia definition of planking is: The act of lying face down with arms to the sides of the body, in unusual public spaces and photographing it. I don't know why but it makes me laugh so much! I showed the boys how to plank, and they have been planking on everything! The cabinet plank.
The reverse stair plank. The forward stair plank.
The crazy Lincoln plank!!!
Tonight, we had dinner at Jenn and Justin's house. Link lays down on their coffee table and says, "Hey look everybody! I'm planking!"

Growing Up.

We move in less than two months. Nate and I have spent the past two weekends cleaning out "stuff!" Yesterday, we tackled the garage. The boys fought with light sabers in the front yard for a few minutes and then asked if they could go play inside. Nate and I agreed and didn't hear from them again. Nate and I started reminiscing about the last move. During the last move, Link was crawling. He was into everything! Ethan was still pretty small and need a lot of supervision! We are lucky enough to have Marilyn move again with us this time, but it should be MUCH easier this go round!

One of the guys

I've never been one of the guys. My besties have always been girls. I thought being the only girl in the house I would end up being "one of the guys." I was wrong.
Lincoln wakes up every morning in character. When I pick him up from school, he is in character. When he goes to bed, he's in character. (see a pattern here?)
He has started including me in his schemes. They usually go like this:
I am Batman. Mommy, you are Catwoman.
I am Obi wan. Mommy, you are Princess Leia.
I am Jake. Mommy, you are Izzie.
I am Woody. Mommy, you are Jessie.
I am Pablo. Mommy, you are Uniqua.
I guess I am only allowed to be the girls!!!!

Music to my ears!

The fellas were playing HARD in the toy room. I hear this:
Ethan: You wanna play dress up?
Link: Yeah!
Ethan: Then, let's clean this mess up first.
Link: Ok. Let's do it!
The best part was that they actually did it!!!!!

You!

On Sunday, Ethan decided to write a list of the things he loved about me. The list only contained one item....I love the food you cook for me. Hmmm....that's it, huh?

What's even crazier than that is that Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday he cried and refused to eat the lasagna I made. He even tried hiding some behind the toy box.

THEN, Wednesday night I made pork chops, mashed potatoes, and zucchini. They gave me the hardest time Wednesday and Thursday (leftovers). They both barely ate. Ethan said the meat looked funny. Link said he was going to "FRO UP if he has to eat the mashed potatoes."

The first thing Ethan said as he got in the car today was, "What are YOU making tonight?" I replied, "We're going out!!!"

Historians

We have enjoyed this city to the FULLEST! The boys know all the monuments. They have been to almost all of the museums, and request return visits!
On Saturday, Link looks at me and says, "Mommy, would you text Memaw and ask her if she wants to go to Ford's Theater with me. She hasn't been there before!" What four year old asks to go to Ford's Theater???? Maybe one named Lincoln who is a history buff!!!

Picnic

Link got a lot of cool outside toys for his birthday. Uncle Jeremy and Jess got him a rocket launcher that he has been dying to try out.
The boys quickly learned how to launch it far!By far....I mean in the trees!
Thankfully, they also sent a package of extra rockets.
William and Patrick got him a flying helicopter and we brought the shoot planes!
Lincoln had to show Aaron "how to do it!"
Ethan also had to show him what to do! (Notice a theme here....bossy boys)
Lincoln wanted to take the camera away from me and take a picture of me. NICE....
He also wanted to take Oscar for a walk. It was really pretty day, and it wore both of them out for a nice afternoon nap!

Birthday Party

Lincoln and his closest friends celebrated his fourth birthday on Saturday!
The weather was great, so we had a sports party! There was basketball, golf, soccer, and baseball.
Ethan showed off some of his skills!
Lincoln scored a few goals.
After playing hard, the friends came in to chow down on pizza and cake!
The birthday boy was super excited about his Buzz and Woody cake.
It was a hit!!!!
After filling his belly, he opened his presents! He is so fun to watch when he opens his presents. He gets so excited and it is so appreciative! I hope he stays that way!
I hope this year is as fun as the past four!
