Valentine's Note

I am not sure what qualifies as a bad day at school for this boy.  

He didn't mention ANYTHING.  In fact, he was a happy boy all evening.  

When it was time to go to bed, he didn't want to go so he stomped upstairs without giving either of us a kiss goodnight.  Nate told him that he was being rude and to cut it out.   

We woke up to this note today!  I love the "Dear Parents,".  

Talented

Yesterday was Chinese New Year.  Ethan brought home the Chinese calendar and we all looked at our animal and associated attributes.  Lincoln was FURIOUS when he learned that his year was the pig.  He wouldn't even let us explain what that meant.  He finally calmed down and I read all the pig's positive attributes which included intelligence!  He smiled and was fine.  Then we busted out laughing when his not so positive attribute was a quick temper!
I read mine which was the year of the rabbit.  The first attribute was talent.  Lincoln said, "Hmmm, I didn't know you could juggle!"  That boy is hilarious!

Expert

Ethan:  Quit boosting there Lincoln.
Lincoln:  I am the expert.  I know how to do it!
Ethan:  No, you can't be an expert until you go to college.

Oh, if he only knew how much truth that statement held!  haha!!!

Grey is my favorite color

I love grey sweaters, t-shirts, pants, boots, jewelry.....you name it-I love grey!  I do prefer blue skies, though.  It would be nice to warm my toes and get a tiny bit of sun on my face!  

They warned us that Germany is a rainy, foggy, grey country.  They weren't kidding!  

In the distance you can see the base.  I thought this was a cool picture from Burg Nanstein.

Mr. Encyclopedia

Seriously this kid is Mr. Encyclopedia.  You  never know when he is going to spout off some random fact.  Here are the three he shared with us today.
1.) Did you know that the longest beard in the world was from a man named Hans.  The beard was 18 feet 6 inches.
2.) Jackie Robinson was born January 31, 1919.  He was an awesome athlete.  He was the first one to steal all the bases.
3.) 4000 J.J's (a boy in his class) would be equal to 5 billion peanuts.
I had to ask what the world is a J.J.  He laughed and said he's in my class...like I was supposed to know that!

Lincoln:  Mommy, can I play your iPad after school or does that count as my video game time?

Me:  We'll see.

Lincoln:  Uhhhhhh, you know how I feel about "we'll see!"
