Ireland Road Trip

Wednesday we left Dublin.  Our first stop was to Roscrea, Ireland to see the famous Leap Castle.
This is the most haunted castle in Ireland.
It's an actual residence.  I emailed the owner a few weeks ago to ask if we could visit.  He said sure, but was not at home the day we arrived.  He did leave the gate open though!
Nate and I laughed and said that Uncle Eddy must be visiting!
We stopped for lunch at Barack Obama's Plaza.
We took a few scenic routes to our next destination.  We stopped at Killinaboy to see a cemetery.
We are not sure which boy was killed.
Our B & B was two kilometers from the Cliffs of Moher.

We decided to let Link drive us to dinner.
I was a little obsessed with these celtic crosses.
We ate in a little fishing village called Lahinch.  We ate right next to Sue's.
We loved Northern Ireland, but western Ireland was gorgeous too!

Big Bus Tour

We decided early on to take a bus trip.  We wanted Nate to enjoy the beautiful views and not have to drive ALL of Ireland.  We picked the trip to Northern Ireland.
These are just a few pictures from the bus window.

Our first stop was at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.  We had a two kilometer walk to the bridge and the views on the way were fantastic!
Some guy from the bus hit this cow in the face and he ran off.  I still do not know why he did it!

I told the fellas to turn around when they got on the bridge so that I could take their picture.  I said, "Guys" and Link came running back!!!!  I had to put the camera down and walk with him.

I was able to get a picture of Nate on the way back!

Our next stop was at Giant's Causeway.  I was super excited to see this spot.  Our bus driver told us that there is a blue (easy) path and a harder (red) path.  He said the red path had the best views.
We grabbed some sandwiches and took the red path.
I love this picture!
One hundred and sixty four steps down!

It was HOT.
BUT....so worth it!!!

Ethan selfie!
This place was amazing.  Our driver told us that between the rope bridge and the causeway we walked six kilometers.  We were a sweaty mess!  It was nice getting back on the air conditioned bus.
A super quick bus stop.
We had to wait on this happy lady to pass the bus.
We had an hour in Belfast.
It was dinner time so instead of touring, we stopped at a pizza place.
The guy gave Link the biggest piece of pizza!
The guy asked how long we were in Belfast.  We all laughed and said, "One hour."

Dublin, Ireland

We had a super early flight into Dublin on Sunday.  We had tickets to the Trinity College Library at one, so we grabbed some lunch and walked around the Temple Bar area.
Because we bought our tickets online, we were able to walk right into the library.
My pictures do not do it justice at all.  It was breathtaking!
I was very happy here!
After the library, we walked towards St. Stephen's park.  Link found his store!
We all sat and rested for a bit.
The monkeys were at it again.
Our hotel was right across the street from Christ's Church.
We woke up the next morning and made our way to St. Patrick's Cathedral.
The boys RAN to play on the playground for a few minutes.
They asked if they could sit while we walked around.  Nate told them YES but they had to pray!
We left the church and walked to the Guinness Storehouse.  We had to make it a learning experience, so we quizzed them on the four ingredients to make beer!  They passed!  The rest of the week Link would see the Guinness name and say, "Hey it's Gunneesus."
