Atlanta

We took one last hurrah before school started.
We took the fellas to Atlanta to enjoy a ballgame and Six Flags.
We started our trip off enjoying hotdogs at Varsity.
We had a some time before the ballgame so we went to visit Jimmy Carter's library.
Nate said we only had two opportunities to see the Pirates play in Atlanta, so we booked a hotel within walking distance and got to the game early!
It was HOT!!!  We took a quick walk around the stadium and
found that our seats were in the shade!  YAY!
Nate and I had a great time.  Unfortunately, the Pirates lost and the fellas were NOT happy about it!
Thankfully, we had a Six Flags the next day!
We made the most of the day and spent half of our time at the water park!
We got an early start home.  Atlanta is only 2 1/2 hours away so we
decided to make a detour to visit DeSoto Caverns.
It was nice and cool in the cave and we had a great tour!
We had a great break!

Atlanta, Georgia weekend

We have been itching to travel.
Atlanta is two and a half hours away, so we headed to GA for our long weekend!
The boys were ecstatic when we told them we were going to Six Flags on our first day!
We spent half of our time at the water park and the other half riding the roller coasters.

It was HOT and humid!  We were worn out by the end of the day.  We were all fast asleep by 9:00!
Ethan has a big science project due in a few weeks.  After a bit of research, we learned that Stone Mountain was super close to Atlanta and he could use the brochure information in his project.
We headed out Sunday morning!
The temperature had dropped a bit and we enjoyed walking around the park.

After Stone Mountain, we had a super fun lunch at Dave and Busters.
We spent 2 1/2 hours eating and playing!
The time flew by!
 The boys had a blast!
It was about 3:00 and I told the family that Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta.  I asked if they wanted to go see his house.  I received a big fat YES....of course!!!
We stopped at the church he and his father preached in first.
We walked by his grave site.
We ended at his house!  The whole historic area was within walking distance.
We had a gorgeous weather day for seeing all the history.
We ended our night at Richard Blais' Flip Burger.
Our weekend was so quick, but we packed in a ton of stuff!!!  Nate goes back to work tomorrow, but the boys and I get one more day together!  Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Atlanta

It seems that we have lucked out AGAIN on our hotel selection. This time the hotel we booked was full, so they paid for an adjoining room with a suite next door. We had a great room!! The next morning we headed to the Coca-Cola museum. Many people recommended this as a "must do" in Atlanta. My boys do not drink soda. They say it's "hot." So, I wasn't sure how they would like the museum, but I think they enjoyed the time out of the car!
We saw a quick tour on how the Coke was bottled. We watched a couple of movies. These are the new coke characters. The last movie was 4D. Our chairs moved and we were squirted with water (coke).
We ended the tour by tasting 60 varieties of sodas from around the world.
A quick tip. If you ever in Italy, stay away from the soda named BEVERLY!!!!
We had so many recommendations for restaurants. Nate found out that Richard Blais from Top Chef has two burger "boutiques" in Atlanta. We are HUGE fans of Spikes, Good Stuff, so we made a stop at Flip Burger. It was good! I still enjoy Spike's the best, BUT Marilyn enjoyed Flip Burger better!

HotLANTA!

The movers came yesterday and therefore we headed out of town. We drove three hours last night. Today we drove seven. We stopped in Atlanta. As we pulled off the interstate, I noticed Pirate Cove's miniature golf. After dinner, we took the fellas for some putt-putt to give them a fun break.

This was the boys first time golfing (not counting the Wii). Ethan LOVED every minute of it.

Little bit enjoyed the whole pirate theme. Notice where his ball is.....

Here he is "kicking" his ball in!
A SHARK. OH NO!!!!!
It's been a long week! As we turned the corner, I saw this fella!
They had so much fun. Tomorrow morning we are going to the Coca-Cola museum, eating lunch, and then heading to Montgomery.
