Skyline Drive

We made it to God's country, for sure! We started our day off taking a drive down Skyline drive.
The views were amazing! I think that we missed the "peak" by a few days or so, but the colors were still great!
Skyline drive has 75 lookout spots. You literally drive your car up and this is what you get to see! The best part is that you don't have to get out of your car.....which is good because it was COLD this morning (35 degrees).
We waited a few hours before we got out to take a few pictures. We took a little hike, too. I will share those photos tomorrow.
GORGEOUS!

Weekend Get A-W-A-Y!!!!

Knowing that we have less than a year here, we decided to get as much Virginia in as we can! This weekend we are heading to the Shenandoahs. We left after work today and are staying in a hotel in Front Royal.
Nate and I are super excited about seeing the fall foliage and the natural caverns in Luray. The boys are thrilled about the hotel! It's going to take forever for these munchkins to relax and go to sleep tonight!

We're in a rut

I have always had two GREAT sleepers. I am serious!!! They both sleep 11-12 hours a night. They have always taken great naps. In fact, Ethan still enjoys a good nap now and then. For some odd reason, we have had the hardest time getting Link down for bed this past week. He comes out of his room 42 times before we break down and put the baby door knob on. Then, he cries for another 30-40 minutes. I eventually get sick and tired of the screaming and go up there with my "angry" voice! Only then will he finally go to sleep. As I type this the entire DC metro area is listening to him screaming "MOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYY!" We have to break this cycle and quickly....before I lose my sanity!

Fight for the Championship

Ethan loves watching Marilyn play the Wii. He loves when she plays the Segway. Nate decided he would try Wii fit with all of us tonight, so we made him a profile. The game asks for your height, then weighs you, and lastly it gives you a balance test. Once it is finished, it gives you your fit age. Apparently, Nate is really 49 years old. We died laughing!!! The rest of the night, he tried to knock everyone's first place scores off!
Ethan worked so hard getting first place on ski jumping!
This morning once Nate left for work, Ethan logged onto Nate and sabotaged his scores! He thought it was so funny!

Trick or Treat

This year we decided to all dress up as Star Wars characters.
Good Vs. Evil
Rachel and Jaden invited to come to their house/neighborhood for Halloween again this year!
I was so happy when I noticed Rachel was dressed up. Then, the Hills showed up in costume and I was super excited!!!
It seems we weren't the only Star Wars characters out tonight!
Lincoln started off so strong. He YELLED Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat so loudly. Then, he waited until everyone left the doorstep and told the people giving out candy THANK YOU!!! He was so sweet. He was such a trooper, but he got really tired towards the end.
We had the best time and also made out in the candy department!!!!

Saturday in DC

Mar was stuck inside with Link all day yesterday. She will be stuck inside with both boys all day Monday and Tuesday, so we decided to get OUT of the house today!Spike opened up a new pizza place, so we tried that first. Then, we walked past the Capitol to the Botanical Gardens. Today, was John Stewarts Rally to Restore Sanity. There were SOOO many people with signs and so many people in costume.
We had to get a picture of Ethan near the coconut tree. His new favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. He has it almost memorized.

The boys looking for alligators.

Mar and Link posed near the giant leaf!

I tried to get a picture with Mar and both boys, but Link was in heaven running in the "jungle." During baths tonight, E said that the Botanical Gardens was just like the amusement park, but we didn't get to ride any rides.

Games

Lincoln is starting to understand the rules of games. This weekend I noticed that they pulled this game out and started playing all by themselves!!
