Barcelona Day 4

Tuesday we got up and headed to Montserrat.
If you look closely, you can find the cream colored building in the rocks!
 Some more fake love!
Nate got really sick on the train ride to Montserrat.  He has picked up some really bad motion sickness in his old age. Thankfully, he was ok on the cable car.

 The church was really pretty.

The boys have started using the churches as a change to sit!
We spent a few hours here and then headed back into Barcelona.
We decided to do some shopping before dinner.  The boys found a Disney store.  I found a few clothing stores.  Nate found Dunkin Donuts!  SCORE for all of us!

Barcelona Day 3

We got a later start on day three since we were staying up later at night!  We were all amazed at the vending machine in the subway!  They had a full size Sunny D in there!
By the time we got to Park Guell, we had to wait two hours until we could officially get into the Gaudi part of the park.  We tried to find some shade and relax until our entrance time.

We walked up and found a great view of the city.
FINALLY, we got in to the Gaudi part of the park.  The tile work was very pretty!
 The famous lizard!!
 The boys faking some love!

The little boys playing with a roley poley.

We finished the park and walked down to the gothic area.  We walked back to the area around our hotel and had a great tapas dinner.  We were beat and tired, and I forgot to get pictures!!

Barcelona Day 2

We started day two off at Gaudi's Casa Batllo.
The boys enjoyed the audio tour.
The house was full of interesting curves, lights, tiles, and glass.

We spent a while enjoying the house.
It was super hot again that day.  Ms. Jessica lubed up the boys and we took off to our next stop.
We walked down Las Ramblas until we came to a park.
The boys played some futbol in Espana.
We walked further down to the beach.
 Lincoln loved the boats.
After some paella on the waterfront, we walked down the beach and enjoyed some ice cream!

Barcelona

The Leaps and the Gabrielskis hit Barcelona for Spring Break this year.  We decided to continue our Spanish Spring Break tradition.  On Saturday, we headed to La Sagrada Familia.
This church is under so much scaffolding.  It was impossible to get a picture without a crane, scaffolding, or tarps.  We had PLENTY of time to look at the outside as we had to stand in line for a few hours before we were able to enter the church.
Once inside, it was worth the wait.  The church is very interesting and modern.
I loved the altar and the many staircases!
A final peak before we headed to our next destination.
We had tickets to an evening Flamenco show, so we walked to Poble Espanyol.
It is a unique artisan village with lots of shops and restaurants.
The boys were just happy to be together!
So were Jess and I!
We found a glass blowing demonstration right before dinner.
We could have watched these guys for hours!
 But....tapas and sangria awaited!
The boys had a HUGE bowl of pasta for their appetizer and then had chicken strips and fries for their main course.  It was so much food and they ate like champs!
The Flamenco dancers and singers were great!
We passed the HUGE fountain at Montjuic on our way to dinner.
We saw that they had a light show until 9:00 pm.
We made it just before it finished for the night!
It was a great end to our first day in Barcelona!
