Egg drop

Ethan had his first school project today.  He had to make an egg drop container.  He could only use five   items.  He came up with the idea of making it look like a mug of hot chocolate.  Marshmallows cushioned the egg.  After a two story drop, his egg survived!

Snack time

His first question, the second he walks in the door, is CAN I HAVE A SNACK?"
Yesterday, he didn't ask.
As I walked by the kitchen, I saw this!
He even cleaned it up all by himself.

Santa

We just happened to see Santa last Saturday at the BX.
There was NO line, so we rushed the kids over quickly!

Sled Crashing

I noticed the boy's friends up the street were sledding when their mom posted a picture on Facebook.
Just the mention that Liam and Emma were sledding got the video game playing bums off the couch!
This is Lincoln's "best friend" who happens to be a fourth grader!  I don't think he could pick a better "best friend."  He is such a sweetheart!
I had to pry them away.  As you can see, it was already dark!
We walked past yet another over the top decorated house on our way home!  McShea's thanks for letting us crash your sledding fun!

Trouble

This boy has had a ROUGH week and it's only Thursday.  He brought home a note today that said:
Lincoln stuck his tongue out at me and then stomped on my foot.
I was SHOCKED!  What was that boy thinking?
According to him, he threw his lunch box in the cafeteria and then had to walk around the playground as punishment.  While he was walking the playground he stuck his tongue out and stomped on her foot as he passed her.

Night of their lives

It was really snowing when I went to the bus stop this afternoon.  I decided to bring my camera to capture their faces as they got off the bus.
Ethan came CHARGING off the bus.  I got a BIG hug!
Lincoln took his sweet time getting off the bus.  He walked VERY slowly to me.  No hug!
As we started walking up towards the house, I got the news that he received a 3 at school today.  Along with the 3 came a note from his teacher letting me know that he was talking, shouting out, and not listening.  I knew then we were in for a long night!
It wasn't thirty minutes later, that I received an email from Ethan's teacher letting me know that he made a 65 on his math test because he refused to use scratch paper when doing three digit subtraction!  I can't even do that without scratch paper!
Needless to say, both boys lost video games and movies.  They were sent to PLAY in their rooms.  That was it.  About ten minutes after they were "playing" in their rooms, they came down saying they were bored.  Lincoln says, "I bet all the other kids are having the night of their lives and we are having a horrible night!"  Man these kids have no clue how good they have it!

Christmas Markets

We went to Trier for our first Christmas market yesterday.  I played around with the settings on my camera and thought this picture was so pretty.
We saw a man blowing glass for jewelry.
There were lots of people.  Lots of people.  I mean LOTS of people.
We stopped and had a dampfundeln.  It was cake with vanilla sauce and nutella.  DELICIOUS!
Lincoln has the remnants of the chocolate sauce on his chin!
We were so disappointed at the lack of Christmas booths.  We really wanted to find a unique to Germany ornament.  This was as close to unique as we came.  We left empty handed.
This is my third trip to Trier.  I have never seen McDonalds there before.  Maybe I couldn't find it because it was an really old building with a tiny sign in the top window.
A few guys were playing carols from the window.
The city was decorated nicely.  The problem was actually seeing it through the crowds!
Today our village, Erzenhausen, had a small little market.  We stopped and looked around.
