Cleaning?

My dad is coming tomorrow and we decided to do a little cleaning before he arrives. I pulled all the chairs in the living room so I could mop. The boys can find fun in ANYTHING!!! I overheard "Hey, let's walk through the maze."

All I have to say is....they were occupied!!

Veggies

ALERT---ALERT---ALERT---ALERT---ALERT---
Lincoln Harris Leap ate Zucchini tonight! We ate at the Japanese Steakhouse tonight. For some reason, the boys will eat anything there. They even tried a bean sprout. We almost high fived the cook....but we just high fived each other instead.
Sorry for the old picture...I am upstairs and the pictures on this computer are OLD!!

Botanical Garden

We haven't been into DC in a long while, so last night we decided to head into town today. We weren't sure what to do, so I went on YELP and found that the Botanical Gardens was a 5 star spot. It was a pretty chilly morning and when we stepped into the green house we were overcome with warmth! It was so nice!
This place was huge and had some of the most gorgeous flowers.
They had a wing dedicated to the desert. They had the coolest cacti.
Their biggest exhibit was the jungle. It was so lush and gorgeous. There is a huge catwalk where you can see the entire jungle.
Our favorite part had to be the entrance of the Garden. The entire entrance was a re-creation of DC made out of twigs and sticks and leaves. Ethan loved the Washington Monument.
At the end of the little reflecting pond, was the Lincoln Memorial. This place had everything. They recreated the White House, the Smithsonian castle, the Botanical Garden building, and the Supreme Court.

The most awesome was the Capitol. It was gorgeous. We would totally come back to this place. I think that they are going to have a big Christmas exhibit with trains. We saw them unloading the trains as we left! We will definitely have to come back.

dance class

I've been going to a Zumba latin dance class for the past few months. I go to the 7:40 class. This time is so perfect because I leave as the boys are going to bed. The past few weeks the boys ask me if I am going to my dance class around bed time. At breakfast on Wednesday, Lincoln said, "Mommy, how was your dance class!" It was so cute.
Since the boys only went to school two days this week, I gave Ethan the option of them going in for the morning today. He quickly said, yes. I decided to go to Zumba while they were at school. I had NO clue how upset Lincoln would get when I dropped him off this morning. It was bad. He was clutching at my shirt and screaming. The teacher literally peeled him off of me. I picked them up a couple hours later. We get in the car and Lincoln says, "Mommy, did you have fun at your dance class." I said, "Yes, did you have fun at school." He says yes and I ask him why he cried. He says, "I didn't cry." Goof ball!!

Putting the pieces together

There are so, so, so many things that we did with Ethan that have not done with Lincoln. One thing that we did all the time with Ethan (pre-Link)was puzzles. He absolutely loved puzzles and did them all the time. As a before bath activity, we busted them out this past week and Link is beginning to enjoy them. Ethan brought him a pile of them tonight. Link looked at simple interlocking one and whined, "Dis one too hard." That is something you would/will NEVER hear Ethan say about a puzzle. He loves the feeling of accomplishment when he figures one out!

Devastated

Someone was D-E-V-A-S-T-A-T-E-D when Marilyn left today. He cried crocodile tears and actually gasped for breath when he woke up from nap and Marilyn was gone. It took lots of hugs and kisses and major distracting to get him from being "bery sad Mar's gone."

Sock Puppets

Marilyn brought a sock puppet kit with her and the boys made four puppets today. The favorite two were a scary green dinosaur and a pretty red-headed princess!
